Montage celebrates 13 years in business, 1 year in new location
MORRIS – The month of August is a special month for Montage Wine Bar & Spirits. Its annual August celebration recapping the years and the evolution of the business is right around the corner, but what makes it even more special is that Montage will also be celebrating one year in its new location.
In August of last year, owner Michelle Xydakis reopened Montage in the historical Skluts Building renovating a well-known community driven store with hopes to maintain the success and the longevity that Skluts was known for. Being a 12-year business already, Xydakis wanted to take Montage to the next level and purchasing and renovating the Sklut building with the help of her husband Tony made that a reality, she said in a news release.
Montage Wine Bar specializes in small batched, allocated wines from across the world in addition to signature cocktails and craft beer. It has been expanding the small bites menu adding a build your own charcuterie option that will introduce you to cheeses and meats from across the world as well. In addition, customers are able to buy the meats and cheeses to go, and create a fabulous board at home. This addition is great for hosting parties, holidays, or having a custom board complimenting your wine in the comfort of your own home. They also offer artisan flatbreads, a hummus platter for a vegetarian option, and other small bites to compliment your drink of choice. Xydakis admits Montage is not a restaurant, but its menu items are savory and pair well with the wine bar’s vibe and drinks. They offer a warm atmosphere and pride themselves on customer service and knowledge of their products.
“With the growth of our business, we also have added private events. We have a private event room that holds up to 50 people. Since our grand reopening last August, we have held around 50 private events! We are so proud and excited to offer an event space and customizable packages that make any event special. Our goal is to provide a unique, beautiful setting and ease the stress for the hosts of the events. Bridal showers, baby showers, milestone events, corporate events, retirement parties, holiday parties, engagement parties, and small weddings are just some examples of previous parties,” Xydakis said in the release.

Montage Spotlight Series
Montage Spotlight Series features nationally acclaimed artists in Montage. Every 2-3 months they will transform Montage into a small, but capable music venue with a pro audio set up and a unique lighting scheme. The goal will be maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere, while providing amazing talent. The first show was on April 27 with Noah Guthrie. Noah Guthrie was on the television show Glee, in addition to many other successes. Noah is currently on the show Americas Got Talent and tours nationally. It was such a memorable night in Montage and they are proud to offer amazing LIVE music in Morris, IL.
The upcoming artist is Brain Vander Ark from the band, The Verve Pipe and they couldn’t be more excited. This spotlight series night kicks off our Anniversary weekend celebration on Friday, August 24. Tickets are $25 and available on Eventbrite.com.
