Drive-thru COVID testing in Morris Saturday
MORRIS – The Grundy County Health Department announces three local sites this week where the Illinois Department of Public Health will sponsor drive-through COVID-19 testing.
Local health departments have coordinated with the IDPH to provide a mobile unit locally. Testing will be offered to anyone – regardless of symptoms or if asymptomatic – by way of nasal swab. Results will available 4-7 days after specimen collection. Residents of any county are welcomed at the site, and should bring their health insurance card, but no one will be turned away due to inability to pay.

Grundy County is part of the North-Central Region, which has a current positivity rate of 7.2%. If the region reaches 8% for three consecutive days, additional restrictions will be imposed upon our region. The IDPH relies on both positive and negative testing data to determine the next steps of action. Per IDPH, all residents are encouraged to be tested if they are experiencing symptoms or have been in close contact with a positive person.
