The Grundy County Health Department has announced the State is sponsoring a drive-through COVID-19 test area in Morris on Saturday, Sept. 5. Anyone can come for a test – whether you have symptoms or not, and no appointment is required. See the details below. A drive-through unit also will be available at Joliet Junior College, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet on Sunday, Sept. 6 for the same times below.

The North Central Region, which Grundy County is a part of, is at 7% currently, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. If the region hits 8% for three consecutive days the region will be given additional restrictions that will once again negatively impact our local businesses. We can all do our part by following the safety guidelines – wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart, frequently wash hands – and by getting tested. The state and local health departments rely on both positive and negative testing data to help combat this disease. Get tested if you’re having any of the symptoms, get tested if you’ve been in contact with someone with COVID-19, and get tested if you’re unsure – it’s better to know to help stop the spread.
