Morris Hospital Offers COVID-19 Testing By Appointment

MORRIS, IL – As of June 1, Morris Hospital is offering COVID-19 testing by appointment for asymptomatic patients. Those who are tested do not require a known exposure to the COVID-19 virus.

Testing is available for patients of all ages from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday-Friday, but appointments are required – no exceptions. Anyone wanting to schedule a COVID-19 test at Morris Hospital can call 815-705-2819 between 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday-Friday.

This test is the nasopharyngeal (nasal) swab viral test used to determine if someone is currently infected with COVID-19. The nasal swab test requires collecting a sample from the patient’s respiratory system through a swab inserted in the nasal cavity. The swab is then analyzed at a lab for viral genetic material.

The nasal swab is performed as an outpatient test. Patients are given a scheduled time and instructed to pull up to the former outpatient entrance at the hospital and remain in their vehicle while lab personnel administer the nasal swab. Patients are required to have photo ID, insurance card and sign a release at the time of their test.

Test results will be available in approximately 5 business days through the Morris Hospital Patient Portal.
