Grundy vaccination info for essential workers
Dear Members,
As the Grundy County Health Department works to vaccinate our community following CDC and IDPH guidelines, it anticipates Grundy County will move into Phase 1B by the end of this month, pending the amount of vaccines received.
Phase 1B includes these essential businesses/workers:
Frontline essential workers, defined as those workers who are essential for the functioning of society and including the following: First responders, Education (day care and pre-K through 12th grade), Food and Agriculture, Manufacturing, Corrections Workers and Inmates, USPS, Public Transit Workers, Grocery Store Workers, Shelters/Adult Day Care.
If your business is considered essential, the facility is located in Grundy County, and you’d like to get employees vaccinated, the following is required:
• Contact name, phone number, and email of the person that will be coordinating the vaccine effort for the company.
• Number of vaccines needed. It is strongly encouraged that businesses survey their employees, as not all will want to be vaccinated and the health department needs an accurate count. Employees do not need to be Grundy County residents.
• Can the business provide a registered nurse, on site, to administer the vaccines? Due to the overwhelming need and limited manpower, it is strongly encouraged that businesses arrange for the administration of the vaccine themselves. This will speed up the time in which vaccination can occur.
