Grundy County Chamber Foundation

We are pleased to announce that the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce & Industry is in the process of forming a non-profit 501(c)(3) affiliate called the Grundy County Chamber Foundation. The purpose of the Chamber Foundation is to support and advance the educational, tourism and economic interests of the communities throughout Grundy County.

Why form a Foundation?

As a 501(c)(6), the Grundy County Chamber is restricted in the revenue avenues we could pursue. The Chamber Foundation will allow us to secure grant dollars for special projects/programs as well as larger member flexibility in tax deductions, while supporting the Chamber's mission and vision. The Chamber Foundation will give opportunities to members who want to support Chamber charitable and educational programs, such as scholarships, yet were previously hampered by our lack of an IRS 501(c)(3) status. It will also allow the Chamber to apply for grants to support the Visitor's Center operations.

The Chamber Foundation is a result of the Board's recent Strategic Planning sessions as well as a lot of hard work by local attorney Robert Russo. Thanks to the Board and to Bob for their efforts!
